The Fixer

Work-holding devices like bench vises and clamps have remained relatively unchanged for years, and with good reason; they work pretty well for their intended users. However, existing vises tend to be bulky and overkill for most home/DIY applications, and are best suited for strong, flat objects.

The Fixer is a versatile electronic bench vise for use around the home. Its 10 articulated jaws utilise independent rubber suspension to securely yet gently grip objects of all shapes. The electronic control allows the user to set a predetermined limit to prevent accidental crushing of objects, and reduces the risk of clamping or pinching hands and fingers.

Proof of concept

Lufthansa First Class Lounge Chair

Lufthansa Lounge Chair
The Lufthansa Lounge Chair was designed for use in Lufthansa's first class lounge in Frankfurt, Germany. It incorporates the styling of its surroundings via its stainless steel base and timber construction. The chair has been designed for relaxation and comfort, and employs some sophisticated techniques in its manufacture.

Cosy Cup/Ducati Cup

The Cosy Cup was designed for the no. 7 homewares brand. Using their established styling cues, the cup is made from satin-finished porcelain, surrounded by an insulating timber "coaster" that lends the cup just the right amount of warmth.

Cosy Cup

Pragnum Design (formerly Fisher Design) was then tasked with redesigning the cup to suit Ducati's branding. Using their styling cues, the Ducati Cup incorporates matte black, glossy red and white, carbon fibre and gold finishes, in addition to the iconic Ducati stripes. The cut out in the exterior is a nod to the air scoops seen in some Ducati models.

RocketSip

RocketSip
RocketSip - Kindergarten water bottle system
RocketSip is a water bottle for kids, designed specifically for use within a kindergarten classroom context. It works as part of a classroom system, with a refilling station providing filtered, chilled water on demand, whilst also having the ability to sterilise the bottles using steam. The customisable silicone covers provide the children with a sense of individuality and ownership of their bottle, with a flexible bite valve allowing for easy and hygienic hands-free drinking. When the new year starts, the PET bottle is recycled, and the silicon covers are reused with a new bottle for the new students.

Behemoth Mountain Board

The Behemoth
The Behemoth Mountain Board was designed for a signature look. Chrome axles and bright, green anodized components, combined with innovative rubber suspension (inspired by a previous project, The Fixer) give it an exclusive feel like no other mountain board.
